Tranquility Under Timber

This custom hip-roof pool pavilion is just one of many structures that Green Mountain Timber Frames had the pleasure of designing and fabricating for a discriminating client. The owner of this property sought the vision of larger park-style pavilion, but to fit the smaller scale contours of his backyard pool patio area. Our crews met the challenge. The frame was cut with Douglas Fir timber and finished with a citrus based tung-oil sealant, making it a durable and timeless piece of architecture.

Custom, Individualized Joinery

The finished project of this beautiful timber frame installation included a wood burning fireplace, TV, and serene lounge area. We are incredibly grateful for our client in trusting us to deliver this picture perfect pavilion in the peaceful essence of his own backyard.

Hamilton College Chapel Renovation

Green Mountain Timber Frames was contracted for the removal and reinstallation of both the chapel's upper steeple and its 54-foot timber frame sub structure.

The steeple was removed from the top of the chapel and was restored on the ground. To achieve this, our crew implemented scaffolding around the tower for complete accessibility. The steeple was removed from the top with a crane and transported down 125 feet to the ground.

The new steeple is constructed out of Dense Select Structural Douglas fir and is roughly 54-foot tall, just a few feet taller than a typical 5-story building. Our shop crew put together the sub structure here at our facilities and we assembled on-site. Green Mountain Timber Frames engineered the structure to last hundreds of years. Built with authentic mortise and tenon joinery, the timber frame features steel fasteners which allow it to withstand any harsh weather or environmental stressors.

The chapel is of historic and symbolic significance and an integral part of campus. Original construction of the chapel was completed in 1827 and was one of the first buildings constructed on campus. It initially served it's purpose for classrooms, offices, and the chapel proper. Now, students utilize the chapel for studying, assemblies, and concerts. It is on the National Register of Historic Places for it's historical significance.

A Timber Frame Collaboration with MOD Pizza

A true commercial project in nature, Green Mountain Timber Frames was contracted to collaborate with MOD Pizza in Chambersburg, PA for the construction of their outdoor seating area. The end result is a non-traditional and contemporary timber frame structure that gives the restaurant a distinct look at the entrance of the shopping plaza it shares with Target and other major retail locations.

MOD Pizza serves up individual artisan-style pizzas and salads made on demand. Customers can design their own pizzas and salads or select from a menu of MOD classics. All are the same price regardless of toppings. The handcrafted pizzas are then fired in our 800 degree display oven and ready to eat in less than 5 minutes. MOD also offers milkshakes, house-made iced teas and lemonades, local craft beer and wine (where available), and more

Just in time for the holiday season Green Mountain Timber Frames was able to revisit a completed timber frame project in Green Hills, Pennsylvania that was already decorated for the upcoming holiday season. Exposed beams and rafters give the appearance of more space and provide a charming look in the custom great home and kitchen project.

Over the last ten years, the open concept home has been growing in popularity, with expansive kitchens that overlook common living areas throughout the home. The strength of the timbers in a timber frame home allows for less load bearing walls, naturally creating an open floor plan free of obstructions. This type of framing has been used for centuries, especially in older churches, because of its strength and durability as well as its beauty.

Commercial Timber Framing transforms retail spaces in Devon, Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania’s Devon Yard offers a lush, eclectic, and inviting setting to meet for shopping, dining, and celebrating weddings and other life milestones. The unique immersive lifestyle experience here reflects the sensory-rich Anthropologie brand that anchors this six-acre campus in Chester County.

This project required demolishing about two city blocks of buildings at a former garden center site and designing a ground-up branded development, featuring five new primary structures surrounding a central courtyard.

Abundant natural light, reclaimed barn-wood floors, exposed beams, and graceful foliage and floral arrangements maintain Devon Yard’s sophisticated-rustic aesthetic in complementary designs that flow cleanly and logically from one space to the next.

Truss Installation

Located inside Anthropologie a custom truss solution design from Green Mountain Timber Frames can be located in the barn portion of the store. The massive trusses help create an open space with ample natural light that illuminates much of the store.

Custom Carpentry

Through out Terrain and Anthropologie custom carpentry and additional truss systems provided by Green Mountain Timber Frames can be spotted on much of the roof/ceiling structures. Terrain features beautiful reclaimed beams in the check out section installed by our talented crews as well as ample visible custom carpentry made in our Reading, PA shop.

Completed Project

The upscale shopping area on Lancaster Avenue that stands next to the iconic Devon Horse Show grounds includes five buildings and is designed as a town center and opened it's doors to the public in 2018.
